Vello Ruus has been writing drama and poetry for over 20 years. His works include stage theatre, radio plays and filmscripts. Born and raised in Winnipeg, Vello has lived in Finland most of his adult life, performing and directing with the Helsinki based Finn-Brit Players theatre group. He holds a Master’s degree in English Philology from the University of Helsinki, where he also taught translation and writing. Recently returned to Winnipeg, this is his first Fringe Festival production. |
Kyllikki Ruus has directed and co-directed 17 major high school theatre productions including dramas, musicals and educational touring shows. She is currently completing her Master’s in Arts Education. This is her first Fringe experience as director and she is thrilled it is a family project, with two fabulous actors. Kyllikki dedicates this directorship to her teacher and friend, Larry Swanson. |
Sinikka Ruus
Stage Manager
Sinikka Ruus first hit the stage at the age of ten as
the blind prophet's guide in Antigone. Since then she has gone on to perform in,
and direct, several productions in both theatre and film. Her contribution to our production began as
Stage Manager, and has expanded to include the roles of production assistant, web
master, script editor, sound technician and photographer. Sinikka is currently
pursuing a degree in biology at the University of Manitoba.

Vaike Ruus
Set
Vaike Ruus is an artist with a passion for ceramic
sculpture, which she has exhibited
locally and abroad. She has
design-built quite a number of film sets over the past decade, including a few for Guy Maddin. Vaike
holds a Master of Architecture degree from the University of Manitoba. She is
currently teaching in the Environmental Design Program, Faculty of
Architecture.
